This picture book, "The Tiger is Coming Down," is designed to introduce children in preschool and the lower grades of elementary school to Pansori, a beautiful traditional Korean musical storytelling, in a fun and engaging way. It's not just about the song by Lee Nal-chi; it's designed to help children learn about and approach our traditional music through both text and illustrations. Unlike Pansori commentaries that structure the story like a fairy tale, this book focuses on one part of Pansori, making it feel like you're actually singing Pansori.

The story structure, in which the weak outsmart the strong, was very popular among the common people. In particular, the passage in this book, "The Tiger is Coming Down," is a story about a small, land-dwelling turtle who doesn't know much about the world, encounters a tiger, the king of the mountain, and faces a crisis. However, the turtle uses his wit to escape the crisis, making the confrontation between the tiger and the turtle very exciting.

This project, which depicts a scene from the Pansori "Sugungga" based on the feel of Korean ink wash painting, was published in December 2020 and was selected as a Naver bestseller in December. In January 2021, it was selected as an excellent book by the Korea Children's Education and Culture Research Institute, and in April 2021, it was used for the exterior printing of the Dream Book Bus of the Chungbuk Culture and Education Center.
